Turning Japanese

Last night marked the first non-official Crafty Like A Fox Club meeting, where the only crafting that took place was the selection of toppings for the fro-yo. Thanks for joining me ladies!

It was decided that the first official meeting will be on June 3rd at 7:30pm, location TBD (either Katie's or Laura's). We'll be working on simple origami and envelopes made from paper. Please bring your own paper and scissors.

If we were really ambitious, maybe we could make a chain of 1000 paper cranes

You may have noticed I have added a couple of buttons for websites I like. Please let me know if any websites you like have 'buttons' available and I'll add them to the blog!

Project Ideas

I've been doing some thinking about what kinds of projects might work for us, here's a rough list so far:

Freezer paper stenciled items- t-shirts, tote bags, table linens

Linoleum (rubber actually) stamps/block printing

Glass etching on vases/jars
Ribbon embroidery

Making soap/bath products

Garlands/banners for parties

I linked each to a tutorial/description of the craft, so you can get a better idea. I was trying to think of things that could be completed (at least most of the way) in an evening and would produce useful items. See you all tomorrow!
